Today I have the absolute privilege to give a presentation at this years All Things Open conference in Raleigh, NC. This year marks the 12th edition of the conference. I’ve been fortunate enough to attend 4 including this year. However, this is my first time to speak. I’ve spoke at numerous conferences in the past, but this is by far the largest. This is also the first time I’m speaking on something other than software engineering (although my talk is somewhat related).
I’ve written a bit here about my self-hosting hobby in the past. About a year ago I moved my self-hosting infrastructure to Kubernetes from the previous Docker Swarm I had been running for a few years. Kubernetes has a huge learning curve, especially if that’s not your “day job”. So back in March, I decided to submit a session proposal on using GitOps principles along with the Flux project to manage your Kubernetes cluster.
A huge thank you to the ATO staff for choosing my submission and for putting on another great conference this year!
